The Apricot Centre (CIC) Wellbeing Service for Children and Families offers assessments and specialist interventions for children, young people and families with complex needs, as well as less intensive care farm approaches to wellbeing. The Apricot Team approach involves experienced CAMHS practitioners from different fields collaborating to deliver high quality therapies and support. We have psychiatry, clinical psychology, process oriented psychology, child & adolescent psychotherapy, art psychotherapy, mental heal nursing, social work and counselling.
Our staff aim to put you at ease and make sure you are safe, listened to, and understood. We don't want you to feel judged or 'less than' for your difficulties, and we will collaborate with you and your support networks towards your wellbeing.
Services and Interventions
Why Specialist Therapies?
Children and families who have experienced high levels of attachment or developmental difficulties, trauma, abuse, and loss can benefit from working with our therapists experienced in these areas. We offer initial assessments, complex mental health assessments, interventions and therapeutic packages, working with individuals (children or adults), with relationships (carer/child, siblings, professional/child), and at a systems level (family work, multi-disciplinary approaches, schools work, residential homes support etc..). Our specialist therapeutic work is process-oriented whereby interventions are developed from the nature of feedback in those receiving support. We operate with the greatest respect towards the unique and unfolding processes of the children and families we work with, as well as working on ourselves as professionals through peer support and high quality supervision. We specialise in working with Looked-After and Adopted Children, Special Guardianship, Child Arrangement Orders, and Kinship Care arrangements. Our process-oriented, trauma and attachment informed approaches will also be relevant to other children and families struggling with emerging difficulties. We are experienced in supporting parents and carers with complex parenting tasks. Also working with corporate parents, schools, health and social care organisation, towards the wellbeing of young people.
