The Apricot Centre (CIC) Wellbeing Service for Children and Families works with young people and families ‘on the edge of potential’. We think that wherever there are trouble and difficulties, creative solutions can also be found. Our therapists work in teams across East Anglia (Essex, Suffolk and Norfolk), and soon we will also offer services in South Devon. We offer a range of specialist therapies, assessments, and also less intensive farm activities which foster wellbeing.
Our professional services are offered within a softer non-clinical atmosphere, to help young people and families with real difficulties, have an enriching, creative and even fun experience.
Many of our practitioners have experience working in CAMHS (Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services), and Social Work or Education. The Apricot Team includes practitioners from different fields such as psychiatry, child psychotherapy, psychology, art & music therapies, play therapy, family & systemic therapies, occupational therapy, social work, and counselling. We also have educational practitioners and skilled mentors able to support young people around life, learning and relationship skills.
Our staff will work to put you at ease and will make sure you are; safe, listened to, respected and understood. We don’t want you to feel judged, or to feel ‘less than’ for your troubles, and will collaborate with you and your support networks towards finding your own sense of wellbeing.
A Local Authority Manager said of this service “I would also like to say personally how pleased I am that… has responded so well to this intervention. It has turned his life around both in placement and school where he was at risk of permanent exclusion”
